Cats make ideal pets for many since they are very playful, affectionate and beautiful besides being very intelligent little animals. Besides taking care of the coat, the nails also require a degree of care. You can regularly trim the toes. It is natural for cats to want to scratch but by keeping the toes well clipped, you will find that major damages on the household items that you value are kept at bay. You should however ensure that you do not end up declawing your cat since it will be a great injustice. Declawing is basically maiming your cat and should be avoided at all times.

The ears and eyes of your cat need to be taken care of as well. They are very sensitive parts of the body and you will therefore need to handle them gently and softly if at all you are to achieve your overall mission. You can for instance get rid of stains from the eyes with the help of a cotton swab that is soft and cleaning solutions designed solely for cats. Cleaning the ears will help keep infections that come as a result of accumulated wax at bay.

Bathing your cat is not all that necessary unless of course it has stepped on poison or other agents that can be harmful. The bathing can also be necessitated by maggot infestations especially for cats which spend long periods outdoors.
